Blue Origin says in the GAO protest that its “National Team,” which included Draper, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, bid $5.99 billion for the HLS award, slightly more than double SpaceX’s bid. However, it argues that it was not given the opportunity to revise that bid when NASA concluded that the funding available would not allow it to select two bidders, as originally anticipated. NASA requested $3.3 billion for HLS in its fiscal year 2021 budget proposal but received only $850 million in an omnibus appropriations bill passed in December 2020.

“NASA’s source selection rationale improperly justifies the selection of a lone provider as a result of ‘anticipated future funding for the HLS Program,’” Blue Origin’s protest states. It notes that the combination of its bid and SpaceX’s bid, about $9 billion, is similar to what NASA spent on the commercial crew program, where NASA “made two awards with less available funding and less out-year funding certainty.”

Musk superfan, Adrian Dittmann, posts for the first time from his brand new account at 2:26 AM.

As an example of the small things, and his solar push, he replies with a comment that could’ve been a like or a Retweet.

In their totality, Musk’s tweets reveal everything about not only his motivations, but his entire character. When he play acts as Dittmann, he can try and alter his voice or accent (though he doesn’t really bother) but the insufferable know-it-all will always come through.

Like he does with jokes and business, he doesn’t offer anything new, he merely explains the post, going so far as “that’s about right”. As if he’s the final arbiter and nothing is real unless he’s validated it. He does this a lot. So does Adrian Dittmann.

Everyone seemed to want a $25K Tesla except for Elon Musk and Adrian Dittmann. ‘Fixing to’ is what drives stocks up, and Dittmann was (for some reason) thinking about busses.

Although the posts Musk and Dittmann are replying to have been deleted, it’s worth noting that the tweets came from @alexestergaard. It appears the username has been recycled anew (Joined date – September 2022), but the new account primarily tweets in Russian, and he might be the world’s biggest asshole.

It’s not you, it’s not me, it’s not him — it’s the government.

Worth noting — the account Dittmann replies to has only tweeted three times, twice @elonmusk about this, and a couple weeks later on a gaming thing.

Dittmann exists to say what Musk couldn’t. (As of 2021… come 2025 it would be apparent Musk can say whatever the fuck he wants.)

In the week leading up to finalizing his purchase of Twitter, Musk tweets a false story about the attack on Paul Pelosi.

A couple of the top comments under his posts… there are literally hundreds of these whenever Musk engages with her.

After three days of impulsive and unpopular decisions, Musk did a poll on whether he should step-down as head of Twitter and seemed genuinely surprised by the results.

It seemed obvious the Yeses would win — people either hated him and thought he was doing a terrible job, or they were investors who wanted him to worry about Tesla, not the social media site that had clearly become a tremendous distraction and that he had sold 59 million shares to fund purchasing.

Out of 17 million votes, I was surprised that 42.5% said no.

Musk is a narcissist, however, so his Trumpian response – accusing mysterious “others” of rigging it – was not a surprise. His solution to manipulated poll results was to require people to pay him to respond in the future.
